EXCELLENCE IN CERAMICS AT SHANGHAI EXPO 2010

On Saturday February 27 the Council Hall in the town of Sassuolo hosted a press conference presenting Covering Forum - Shanghai 2010, an initiative organised as part of Shanghai Expo 2010 by Innovacer with the support of the Region of Emilia Romagna.

Sassuolo mayor Luca Caselli and Marketing and Ceramics Councillor Claudio Casolari justified the region’s representation at the Shanghai Expo with reference to the keywords excellence and ecology: "Excellence means ecology and environment. We need to work on the market to export quality, give the district a strong signal and export our awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability".

Councillor Casolari added that "Planting the “made in Italy” flag in China is the plan shared by everyone in our district for getting through the recession, offering a new way of presenting our companies and providing a platform for presentation of excellence from all over the region of Emilia Romagna".

The event, supported by the Economic Development Ministry through Minister D'Urso as well as by the Region of Emilia Romagna, the City of Sassuolo, the Italo-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the CerArte Consortium and the Order of Architects of Modena, will see the participation of the most prominent names in the ceramics district.
They will be represented by the company chosen by the Government Commission to provide flooring materials throughout the Italian pavilion.

"Fiandre was chosen not only above all its competitors in the district,” noted GranitiFiandre Chairman and Managing Director Graziano Verdi, “but over all other flooring manufacturers. This is a strong signal recognising the quality of our materials and offering us the inspiration we need to represent Italy at this important event.
We will present the spirit of innovation that has characterised our company’s history to more than 70 million Expo visitors."
