THE GREEN CHOICE AT MOSBUILD 2010

Moscow, 6 April 2010 - Ecology, respect for the environment, new materials to ensure wellbeing: these will be the main issues featured in this year's edition of Mosbuild.

Fiandre always keeps a keen eye on its environmental vocation as an ethical firm facing a trying economic situation with innovation and a commitment to a better future.

This year the focus of the company is on sustainability, innovation and collections that represent a reward for Fiandre's commitment to the environment. A prime example of this is Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™, an innovative production technology applied to Fiandre ceramic tiles and able – thanks to a process of photocatalysis – to significantly cut some of the most polluting agents present in the air.

This production method makes it possible to create ceramic floor and wall coverings able to carry out a real, concrete antibacterial action and to reduce polluting factors which, unfortunately, are a constant feature of contemporary urban living. The application of Active on Fiandre materials ranges from the new Extreme collection right through to the marble and stone materials of the Geologica Fiandre collections.

The center of the attention will then shift to the Extreme collection, which is born from the production line of the same name, inaugurated less than a year ago: an advanced technology used to create large 150x75 cm size tiles. Extreme porcelain tiles offer a selection of seven elegant marble materials in semi-glossy and polished finishes, in addition to the possibility of applying Active.

A further demonstration of the company's green policy is Serie 100, a collection that combines large sizes with ecology: slabs measuring 75x75 cm and aiming at 100% sustainability. Using the highest percentages of recycled products from the ceramics sector, Fiandre has created a new material that is both beautiful to look at and kind to the environment.
Using a special technology, the production cycle reuses raw materials and manufacturing waste, thus guaranteeing the finest technological characteristics with minimal environmental impact thanks to the extremely reduced amount of raw materials consumed.

The Wave collection, inspired by the movement of the sea, is a product that boasts simply excellent natural characteristics, thanks to the undulating effect obtained through a perfectly natural process by the graphic studio of Fiandre’s R&D department, whereby a skilfully designed texture creates spectacular shimmering light effects on the surface.

A superb new addition to one of the top Fiandre lines, the New Ground collection, is Hyperfine.
This brand new series, available in five selected shades, boasts a minimum thickness of 4.8 mm.
Like the other articles, Hyperfine belongs to the Fiandre ecology program: thanks to the particular technology used, it guarantees minimum waste of raw materials and has a lower impact on material transport costs, thus cutting CO2 emissions.

Fiandre has also made further impressive additions to its Geologica line: New Marmi welcomes a new colour into the range, Lasa Pure, a subtle, light-coloured shade with delicate tone-on-tone veins running through it, as well as using the Active application on the 120x60 tiles of Michelangelo Statuario and Crema Marfil Select, while in the NewStone series, the Pietra Serena stone has Active technology applied to it.

Research forges ahead, and Fiandre shows the way.
