HOUSE OF WELL-BEING: A HOME BUILT FOR PEOPLE

May 4 through July 4 2010 "Indro Montanelli" gardens in Milan will host the House of Well-Being: an 80 m2 residential unit which uses materials, products, technologies and solutions that are already available on the market to provide a concrete, innovative response to the demands of contemporary living in terms of disease prevention, guidance toward healthy lifestyles, catering to different abilities and providing an answer to people’s needs in terms of wellbeing.

The project is promoted and implemented by Fumagalli Edilizia Industrializzata and GranitiFiandre Spa, supported by the Councillorship for Health of the City of Milan.
The House of Well-Being is a “living” residential unit in which the concepts of environmental quality, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, technology, home automation, safety, ergonomics and sensorial qualities provide all the comfort necessary to ensure human physical and psychological health: it is built for people, in response to people’s demands for better quality of living, with a special focus on promotion of environmentally friendly lifestyles through use of certified environmentally friendly materials.

The installation and related events will offer visitors and opportunity to experience the concrete possibility of living in a residential unit which is physically and psychologically healthy, safe, comfortable, accessible to all, environmentally sustainable and of high technical and technological quality.

Fiandre, a company which has always stood out for its advanced design solutions and awareness of the importance of the environment, takes this opportunity to introduce Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™, a new line of anti-bacterial, anti-pollutant materials that make an active contribution to reducing the numbers of the principal types of bacteria through the combined action of titanium dioxide and photocatalysis.
Paolo Bodega Architettura, the studio in charge of designing the installation, has selected a material to cover the outside of the home in colours strongly associated with the values of health and hygiene: Taxos Extra, a marble in ethereal hues, now available in an innovative new size, 150x75 cm.
