ACTIVE SUSTAINABLE DESIGN NOW

Within the Italian Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo, September is the month dedicated to architecture. At the heart of Italian excellence, endorsed within the Expo, Fiandre has organised, on the 1st September, an International conference of architecture; five of the most influential Asian architects, working on sustainable architectural themes will present themselves in front of an audience of architects, property developers, constructors and authority figures.

A high profile conference on architecture, with backing and participation from the prestigious University of Tongji and the Italian Consulate in Shanghai. Such a significant event was only ever destined for the Shanghai Expo, an event which is currently the focus of world attention.

Chinese and Italian authorities will be present in order to unite all walks of life: the Consul General of Italy, Massimo Roscigno will set off the informative day with an introductory discussion together with the General Commissioner of the Expo, Professor Beniamino Quintieri.

The Chairman of Fiandre, Graziano Verdi, will introduce the five speakers, leading figures in terms of Asian architecture: the stage will be shared between the architects Cui Kai (China), Furuichi Tetsuo (Japan), Hwang Doojin (Korea), Ken Yeang (Malaysia) and Vo Trong Nghia (Vietnam), organised by the authority on Asian architecture, Professor Maki Fumihiko. The Conference will be overseen by Professor Zheng Shiling from the University of Tongji.

The support received from three of the most influential organisations in terms of forefront architectural ideas and themes highlights the importance of this event: CAA – Chinese Architectural Academy, AIJ - Architectural Institute of Japan, JIA - Japan Institute of Architects.

Fiandre is the first company in the industry to be involved in the organisation of such a considerable event.
