COSTRUIRE 2006 FADALTI MEETING

The first edition of the building and lifestyle exhibition "Costruire - Salone dell’edilizia e dell'abitare", held at Longarone (Belluno) from March 9th to 12th concluded on a successful note. GranitiFiandre participated at the show with a stand created in collaboration with Fadalti S.p.A - one of the most important dealers in Italy - which drew a substantial number of professional visitors, with project designers and architects, and the general public. The convention organised by GranitiFiandre and Fadalti as part of this important event was also very successful, with approximately a hundred project designers and industry operators attending. The convention was structured in two parts, the first titled "Heritage, Innovation and Materials" and the second on the topic "Architectural case studies", and was hosted by Mr. Graziano Verdi, chairman of GranitiFiandre. After a brief presentation of the Castellarano based firm, he introduced the speakers, among whom Prof. Massimo Ponzellini (director of the company Patrimonio dello Stato Spa), who spoke on the history and evolution of materials from the stone age to modern times. The architect Bruno Gabbiani (chairman of the ALA-ASSOARCHITETTI association) then discussed the importance of materials in architecture today, presenting a number of his projects and a few large commercial structures in particular. Lastly, the architect Marco Casamonti (lecturer of architecture at Genoa University) illustrated a few of his most recent projects: the renovation of one of Europe's largest discos in the Bergamo province, the project for the opening of the Venice Biennial exposition and the Cantina Antinori project.
