MATERIA 50: AROUND 50 - THANKS 50

On Thursday June 8th at the Milan Triennale, the showcase of Italian art and architecture and a stage for the evolution of Italian and international architecture and design, a major cultural event was held to celebrate the 50th edition of the architecture magazine Materia. The event was attended by over 300 architects, including a number of major names from Eastern Europe and China, who took part in the "around 50" conference, to then visit the exhibition titled "thanks 50 - GranitiFiandre per l'architettura". "around 50": the 50th edition of Materia contains fifty projects presented by the architect Marco Casamonti, managing director of the magazine. Two world famous architects also gave speeches at the conference, namely Dominique Perrault and Luis M. Mansilla, who spoke of architecture and of the rules they use to apply it in their own styles. "thanks 50 - GranitiFiandre for architecture": an exhibition held at the Milan Triennale, where the fifty projects presented in the magazine are displayed in a spectacular setting: in a completely darkened room, 56 plasma screens - each one of which presenting a different project – are mounted onto 19 black prisms. As a result, the projects themselves are the only focus of attention. The exhibition, which will continue until June 22nd, is open from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm. Links Milan Triennale Materia
