FIANDRE AND ACTIVE TOGETHER AT THE SKYCOURT IN BUDAPEST!
SkyCourt, the new terminal building in Terminal 2 at Budapest international airport, was opened on Saturday March 19 in the presence of more than a thousand guests.
SkyCourt doubles the airport’s capacity, so that it will be able to host almost 9 million passengers a year: passengers who will walk over outstanding flooring with particularly prestigious technical and qualitative features.
Fiandre and architect Zoltán Tima, who designed the building, came up with two custom products which not only offer all the aesthetic and technological qualities that have made Fiandre famous the world over but respond to requirements of environmental compatibility and sustainability as well.
GranitoLight and GranitoGreen are made out of more than 50% scrapped material from the industrial process of ceramics production, reflecting the company’s clear and precise response to a market in which environmental sustainability is an increasingly important requirement.
But the official unveiling of the SkyCourt also offered an opportunity to invite all the big names in the world of architecture in Hungary to get together in an unusual setting and reflect on the challenges of sustainability in this field: challenges which involve all aspects of a building, from design to construction.
In the presence of architect Tamás Noll, Chairman of the Chamber of Architects in Hungary, and representatives of the most prominent architectural studios, Marco Visconti of Aedas-Visconti and Zoltán Tima of Közti Zrt. with Graziano Verdi, Chairman and Managing Director of the Fiandre Group, explored new visions and explained how they provided concrete environmentally friendly solutions. Budapest-Ferihegy airport represents a very important step towards a future of conscientious architecture employing environmentally active materials which make an important contribution to protecting and improving the environment we live in.
