GLOCAL SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE: FIANDRE MEETS EASTERN ARCHITECTS
In a time of world crisis, Fiandre never stops its search for new opportunities and opens new horizons in Asia.
Asia is without doubt the continent of the future, containing some of the world’s most dynamic markets. Since 2007 Fiandre has attracted the attention of thousands of Asian architects and invested constantly in this part of the world, setting up some important partnerships.
November 8 marked an important milestone for Fiandre Architectural Surfaces in Asia.
Seoul, South Korea hosted an important architecture conference entitled Sustainability and Holistic in an Environmental Space of Architects and Urban: the first event of its kind in Korea, but the third in Asia in the year 2011. Architects who lead the way for a whole generation of professionals in Korea such as Seung Hchoioh Sang and Kim Young-Sub attended, along with one of China’s top professionals in the field, architect Zhang Lei. The group of panellists also included well-known Japanese architects such as Kuma Kengo and Tetsuo Furuichi. The highly qualified speakers were moderated by Santiago Alvarez Porras, Professor of Architecture at “SKK University” in Seoul.
Mr. Mercuri, the Italian Ambassador in Seoul, opened the conference by underlining Fiandre’s commitment to developing high tech materials which are truly unique world-wide. He spoke of the development of new technologies such as the Active technology and commended the company’s work in architecture and environmental protection in Asia.
Fiandre was of course represented at the event; Giandomenico Mercurio presented the latest new technological developments, such as the MAXIMUM and ACTIVE series.
The conference featured a very interesting question and answer session with the participation of a highly qualified audience of professionals who responded to the attraction of an event representing a starting point for new discussion of a highly relevant issue.
