Born in the heart of an area traditionally linked with the manufacture of floors and wall coverings, Fiandre has achieved the perfect blend between a deep-rooted local culture and a view of the world not only as a market, but also a source of inspiration, place or study and research.
In fact their products arise from the will to achieve creations from top quality natural materials maintaining their aesthetic quality, while perfecting their practical features to adapt them to contemporary use.
Processing founded on sophisticated technology, resulting from ongoing and highly advanced research, uses only the best raw materials to achieve optimal products. This is why Fiandre floors and coverings can guarantee the exceptional characteristics that have gained them widespread acclaim throughout the world; unrivalled hardness, resistance to wear and chemical attack, resistance to freezing and low absorbency rate along with an incredible surface shine.
Needless to say, Fiandre collections are guaranteed for a century.
FROM 1961 UNTIL TODAY
GranitiFiandre was set up in 1961, at Castellarano, in the province of Reggio Emilia.
In 1971, the production or porcelain tiles was expanded: the new factory, standing on a vast estate named Fiandre, from which the company was to take its name, enabled the start-up of two tunnel kilns. The first collection was christened Tinte Unite. After this, in the Eighties, there followed GranitiFiandre, Designer Line and Corindo, all new in terms of production cycles, technologies and size.
In 1990 the company introduced an extraordinarily innovative product, blending the perfection of a natural creation with the attraction of a man-made article. Pietre Preziose, the collection that inaugurated this product, embraces sophisticated interpretations of rare and precious quarry marble and granite.
The Nineties then saw Graniti Reali, Tarsie and Ornamenti Preziosi, Grancorindo, Marmi Reali, Pietre Rare, Graniti Venati, Pietre Secolari and Pietra.
And 2000 saw the presentation of Natura Marmi: a collection of slabs in the size 120x60 cm, aimed at achieving especially beautiful effects in high standard flooring.
In 2002 some of historical Fiandre materials were reorganized under three new collection called New Marmi, New Granite and New Stone.
On June 13, 2001 Fiandre was listed in the STAR division of the Italian Stock Market.
STAR is a segment of the market organized by Borsa Italiana. It is reserved to small and medium capitalized companies who are in a position to meet higher qualitative and quantitative requirements of liquidity, flow of financial information and corporate governing standards than those normally requested for listing on the Italian Stock Market.
Fiandre is the first company to directly enter into the STAR division.
RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
The original approach of Fiandre finds its roots in the company research departments: places where nature's creativity is combined with human talent.
Here, every day, new mixtures are selected, tested and approved with the aim of reaching increasingly fascinating results in terms of colour, appearance and functionality. Each phase of new processes in these departments undergoes rigorous quality control.
PROCESS QUALITY
From wet grinding of raw materials through to the final packaging phase, the entire production cycle is aimed at global quality. Atomization of the mixture, storage, pressing, drying, sintering and cooling: all processing phases are controlled by a microprocessor network and supervised by personnel who record production progress in real time to ensure optimal levels throughout. Also, the premises equipped with efficient anti-pollution systems are testimony the fact that Fiandre promotes both quality and respect of the environment.
