Designing a home is fascinating and complex.
Needs, desires and expectations of those who'll be living there all have to be taken into consideration.
Needs that are emotional, existential, cultural. Not just functional.
Nowadays, in these uncertain times, there is a great demand for stability, wellness, balance, both physical and psychological.
This search for harmony in a global, hyper-technological, accelerated and multicultural society is becoming more and more identified with transparent, direct relations with nature and the eco-system. To a certain extent, these enable us to find our origins, thus ourselves. Purifying, relaxing nature surrounding us and filling the space with harmony and serenity.
The project is split into two main areas: daytime area including kitchen, living and dining rooms and night space with bedroom and bathroom, considered a real domestic SPA.
There are no dividing walls, separations, doors or passages.
Space is lived as just one large environment. A sort of internal garden, a purification and relaxation space, was designed to join the day and night areas. This space, in the centre of the house, is completely covered in Active surfaces, new generation slabs helping to purify the air and make floors and walls healthier and more hygienic. Natural elements alternated with the gres porcelain slabs: horizontal and vertical trees and lawns recalling landscapes, sensations and perfumes linked to nature and well-being.
Fiandre Interior is a new tool for people who work in home furnishings and interior architecture: a new way of designing, suggesting and bringing to life spaces that are increasingly linked to people and their habitat.
