Granitifiandre S.p.A., the world-leading Italian top-of-the-range porcelain stoneware manufacturer, will be in attendance with the Fiandre Architectural Surfaces brand at stand P-1.N61 in the 28th edition of MIPIM-Cannes, the international exhibition dedicated to real estate investment.
After the success achieved in the Expoforum/St. Petersburg project in collaboration with Russian studios Speech and Gerasimov and the Sustainable Farm Pavillion for Expo 2015 from New Holland Agriculture, presented in the 2015 and 2016 editions of Mipim respectively, Fiandre tells its story with an excellent new case history which sees it in a leading role in the project to renovate and prepare the Museo Alfa Romeo in Arese, managed by the Camerana&Partners studio.
Fiandre, was appointed by the FCA Group to provide all the flooring for the museum area and other adjoining rooms, a total of more than 12,000 square metres.
An ambitious project that required the development of an ad hoc product for Alfa Romeo, able to faithfully reproduce the aesthetic of the original flooring, dating to the 1960s, but implemented with the advantages typical to Maximum Fiandre Extralite® technology.
The innovative Alfa Romeo Black slabs by Fiandre, created in 100×100 cm size with thickness of 6 mm completely satisfied the client’s requirements, in both aesthetic and functional terms: the custom product can be driven on, ideal for covering a museum route housing vintage cars, and its characteristics of high resistance to aggressive chemicals and abrasion ensure that its appearance does not alter over time.
With the aim of increasing the personalisation of the exhibition and enhancing its accessibility for visitors, Fiandre also dealt with creating informative inserts in the flooring in order to highlight the exhibition chronology of the cars. This particular process on stoneware slabs was made possible through a particular sandblasting technique, subsequently finished with resin in the corporate Alfa Romeo red colour.
At MIPIM, Fiandre will present a preview of a video story on the project at the stand, which highlights the complexity of the whole operation and the synergy between client, design studio and suppliers.
