The restoration of he Main Hall, an architectonic structure of great prestige, including equipping the hall with multimedia accessories and systems, creating welcoming connecting spaces and support facilities for conferences, is not only of enormous value to the University, both in terms of its organisation and representational functions, but is also of considerable value to the local context and beyond.
The construction work consists in rebuilding the steps, the platform and covering the walls with soundproofing material, restoring the concrete surfaces of the reveal and roof, the visible beams and pillars, refurbishing the stage, and creating oratorio rooms and a press conference room. The perimeter walls will be equipped with a Quarzite Ceniza Extreme 150x75 cm Active collection base.
The upper part of the walls, on the other hand, will be covered with Eracustic panels. Both the stoneware and Eracustic panels will be mounted on an aluminium curtain wall framework, with concealed hooks and an underlying layer of rock wool to improve its soundproofing performance.
At the second level of the main hall, the bathrooms will be furnished with Quarzite Dehor Extreme Active 150x75 cm and 75x75 cm wall tiles, while the flooring will be tiled with Pietra Serena Active 60x60 cm. In the Main Hall's Foyer, the floor is tiled with Quarzite Avana Extreme Active in a variety of sizes, interspersed with areas of Blue Crystal Fiandre laser cut stoneware slabs.
The walls, which repeat the same decorative elements, will be covered with Pietra Serena Active 120x60 cm slabs with steel joints. The walls will then be fitted with circular wooden panels with a red lacquer finish, as mounts for the various functions.
