The design of the commercial park is intended to reconstruct and modernise old hamlets and redevelop them in time.
The first phase analysed how the development of the hamlets was strictly connected with the squares, in a process of spontaneous settlement. Following this analysis, a large square was identified which will be the connecting element for the entire area.
The square is located centrally between the commercial and residential/office area, and is the point of reference for the entire project. Its form is inspired by the golden section, and develops an enclosing line which culminates and opens at the bridge connecting it to the Church. The recreated place is emblematic of the "new hamlet", with elements characteristic of traditional hamlets, such as the double-column portico and the use of small, dark grey paving stones to pave the square.
The square is cut in half by a road which extends laterally between buildings whose ground floors house shops, so that the road becomes a main street shopping district, with large sidewalks. The central square, which is the fulcrum of the shopping district, leads off into two radial lanes, which give onto the space at the back of the larger shops and the car parks. The classical double-column portico and base strip with Active porcelain stoneware slabs, laid out in a staggered rhythm, are the only element uniting the square and its roads.
