The new Landi Renzo Technical Centre is the company's flagship and the completion of the Landi Renzo Spa industrial complex.
The company's philosophy has always been oriented towards the use of low eco-impact energy sources and eco-sustainable mobility, and the new technical centre (NTC), currently being built, is inspired by the same concepts.
The building is conceived as a technological machine divided into macro-areas, which represent the specific sectors, connected by an equipped tunnel, which becomes the line connecting the company's history from past, through present, to future. The NTC is composed of a single building intended to host design offices, R&D departments and cutting edge engine test rooms. Starting from the idea that the best energy is the energy we save, the design has promoted high levels of energy efficiency in the building, in the modelling of the shell, in the choice of the materials, in the use of alternative energy sources and in the design of systems employing energy recovery circuits. Special attention has been paid to the intentionally regular form of the structure and its orientation to the sun, with special insulation for the prefabricated walls, alternating with high performance structural facades equipped with sun shades.
The choice of these elements contributes to containing energy wastage, resulting in improved occupant comfort and energy savings, so that the building is certified Class A. The structure's walls are composed of prefabricated panels employing photo-catalytic cement select to reduce atmospheric pollutants and prevent the formation of toxic dusts, thanks to the photo-catalytic effect of titanium dioxide in sunlight, the same concept that convinced the company to select Fiandre Silver Ground Active materials for the floors in their offices, washrooms, laboratories and test rooms, using both traditional and raised floor systems in their various sizes and thicknesses.
