Outdoor
One of the most important characteristics of the materials used in architecture is durability.
Atmospheric agents and weather affect the outside of a building causing wear and tear, which can vary from place to place and, in certain cases, is unpredictable over time.
It is not without good reason that many architects avoid using ceramic products on the facades of the buildings they are constructing for fear that they will not be up to the difficult task.
In fact, as Kazuyo Sejima (Studio SANAA’s Pritzer Prize winner) confirmed at the 2011 Cersaie, there are not many producers on the international market that offer high quality ceramic products and, therefore, building facades are a fine opportunity to prove the excellence of the Italian traditional know-how and efficiency of the technological innovations developed by Fiandre in its laboratories.
