Fiandre, which has always had an eye on the design culture and sustainable innovation, is proud to support “Alice’s Tabula Rasa”, the new personal exhibition of the British firm GROUPWORK, on show in Hamburg from 5 June to 3 July 2025. The exhibition will be held at auau Raum für Architektur, a cultural and curatorial space founded by the architecture firm Blauraum, which has become a point of reference for dialogue between architecture and experimental and material research.
This cooperation fully reflects the values of Fiandre, which has always been committed to promoting aware design practices and exploring new construction languages combining beauty, innovation and environmental responsibility.
The exhibition is part of the 2025 cultural season at auau, entitled “Patina”, which explores the concept of consumerism through the traces it leaves on materials, objects and spaces. In this context, Alice’s Tabula Rasa represents an in-depth reflection on the origin of architecture, the transformative nature of matter and the potential of design that pays ethical attention to the future.
GROUPWORK, a collective of architects, engineers, landscapers and builders, is renowned for its ability to adopt a poetic approach to technical research. The exhibition is inspired by historical and cultural references from the 19th century, including Lewis Carroll, Schinkel, Semper, Bötticher, Van de Velde and Gropius, offering a new interpretation of architecture based on low-emissions materials and regenerative processes.
The heart of the exhibition is a large site-specific installation that explores how architectural archetypes can be rethought to promote construction that absorbs and retains atmospheric carbon, leading to a “carbon negative” architecture paradigm.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday 5 June at 7 pm, with an opening speech by Armin Taha, founder of the firm, and will end with a finissage on Thursday 3 July, again at 7 pm. The event will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at auau Raum für Architektur, in Brunnenhofstraße 2, Hamburg-Altona.
The whole 2025 exhibition season at auau has been organised with the active contribution of Fiandre, along with Laufen, Dallmer and Prolicht. This presence confirms Fiandre’s commitment to supporting the contemporary architectural culture and its protagonists, fostering open and concrete dialogue on topics of sustainability and the evolution of materials.
