After achieving outstanding results at the Iconic Awards in 2019, this year the Magneto collection by FIANDRE continues to achieve one success after another and received the “GOLD” award at theGerman Design Award 2020, in the “Excellent Product Design” category. The German Design Award, established by the German Design Council, is an international competition that rewards projects and products with cutting-edge content and features that significantly contribute to expanding the world of German and international design solutions. The event also provides an insight into the highly dynamic economy of this sector, which is on a constant quest for original ideas and is aware of the fact that communication plays a major role in enhancing products and brands.

The international jury that chaired the event focused on choosing a winner with a globally recognisable design style based on product functionality and use, as well as on the aesthetic qualities of the product and its circular approach, aimed at reducing waste to a minimum. Magneto fully meets these requirements: while its transversal design is appreciated for its combination of contemporary style and tradition, it is made from over 40% pre-consumer recycled content, in compliance with LEED and BREEAM criteria.

Fiandre has obtained the LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), a system assessing environmental and energy quality in the construction of high-performance “green” buildings that respect nature, and was recently also welcomed as a member of the Green Building Council, completing a process that has made it a standard-bearer of environmental sustainability. More than 70 of Fiandre’s materials are produced in compliance with the parameters set by the LEED certification, which are made from over 40% recycled resources. Fiandre’s focus on sustainability, which does not compromise aesthetics but rather enhances the product’s value, was Magneto’s trump card at the German Design Award 2020.

The award ceremony, held on Friday, February 7, brought together and introduced the winners of all the award categories. The “Building and Elements” panel of judges identified Magneto as a product that is suitable for a wide range of applications as well as being innovative, original and sustainable;
